Time is flying by. Seems like yesterday I was talking about awesome Record Store Day releases like Nada Surf's covers record titled 'if i had a hi fi'. This once Record Store Day piece is a collection of 12 great covers on CD and (for the first time) LP with 3 additional tracks not on the CD. Remember, IT'S OUT TODAY! (Mardev | ADA). ALSO OUT TODAY is the new Hot Hot Heat album 'Future Breeds' from Dangerbird Records. If you haven't popped in a promo yet you should. Plain and simple it's fun, it's catchy, it's a party. There's a few elements of electronica built in with this guitar-driven record, and for this being the first time the band has been at the helm of the knobs it's still remarkably well-produced. For the Hot Hot Heat fans this record recaptures the energy from their previous releases with a unique twist that demands attention.
