Hi everyone,

So, what happened to summer? The tours are there, the releases are there, but it's been 60 degrees and raining up here for the past two weeks. How are supposed to enjoy a summer ale in this kind of crap? Fortunately as New Englanders we're prepared for such inclement weather. If anyone needs us we'll be about 6 inches into a bottle of whiskey and growing our beards out.

Before we crawl into a comfortable alcoholic womb we should share a few things with you. For starters, Todd Snider released a new record on Yep Roc that is amazing and if you haven't heard it you need to check it out.

Everyone's tours are in full swing, check below for updates on Duke Spirit, War Tapes, Wooden Birds/Other Lives, and Amazing Baby. Speaking of Amazing Baby follow THIS LINK to the Flea website where we have brand new Amazing Baby Tour Banners. Also, let's not forget about the new War Tapes video for "Dreaming of You", which you can watch below. Take some time and check out War Tapes reviews by The Ripple Effect and NYpost blogs. Like below!

Lastly, The Juan MacLean has been nominated for The Boston Phoenix award of BEST NATIONAL ELECTRONIC/DANCE. Follow THIS LINK to vote and support. We voted and so should you.

TODD SNIDER: "The Excitement Plan" [OUT NOW!]

ToddSnider

You remember him, right? Well-seasoned traveler on the Americana circuit? Todd Snider brings us "The Excitement Plan" on Yep Roc Records. "Snider sounds like the natural heir to Randy Newman; at other times, he sounds like a cracked cousin of the Drive-By Truckers or maybe a kid Woody Guthrie had out of wedlock with Moms Mabley"(newyorker.com). The Excitement Plan is "an album that combines social commentary, gypsy recession recovery plan and soul-folk into one unified masterpiece" (yeproc.com). And you get a great song about "America's Favorite Pastime" and a duet with Loretta Lynn, "Don't Tempt Me." What more could you ask for?!
