Hi everyone, Finally, it's here. By 'it', I mean summer. Or, what we could assume will be our summer. It's stopped raining... finally. We've parked our canoes and yachts and broken out the t-shirts and SPF. At most we're hanging in the 70's, which could be considered a far departure from summer but we'll take it. This is actually great because I missed having fruit in my beer and summer almost requires that combo. I've heard rumors of a watermelon beer where they put an actual slice of watermelon on the rim of your pint glass. I can't begin to explain my excitement. Roll out the summer ale's, bro shorts, and fanny packs, and check out the new The Dead Weather record that comes out today. So Jack White is up to it again. This time in the form of The Dead Weather. How does he keep up with so many bands and manage to make them all amazing (in our opinion at least)? This time he’s teamed up with The Kills’ Allison Mosshart, and just to change things up a bit, Jack has put himself behind the drum set. Although his vocals are present on many of the tracks, and his signature guitar sound is as well, so I can only imagine that he played multiple roles in the studio. The lineup is rounded out with Queens Of The Stone Age’s Dean Fertita on guitar and The Raconteurs’ Jack Lawrence (the dude with the hair and the glasses – great look). So yeah, we are officially in supergroup mode. The record comes out on July 14th [Today] on Warner Bros. and is available through WEA. |
