THE BLACK HOLLIES "Softly Towards the Light" [OUT 10/6]

Black

The Black Hollies new album "Softly Towards the Light" is brought to you by Ernest Jenning Records (The Orchard).

"With their new record, the New Jersey quartet continue the progression of a band from live powerhouse to expert song-crafters, blending a seductive combination of soul, British blues, and a dose of garage rock... With Softly Towards The Light, The Black Hollies expand upon a sound that Rolling Stone described as "guitar heroics and psychedelia that would bring a smile to Brian Jones' face...From start to finish Softly Towards The Light brims with pop hooks and clever lyrics, another solid step forward in The Black Hollies continued evolution"(ernestjenning.com).

KEEGAN DEWITT "Islands" [OUT NOW]

DeWitt

Next up is Keegan DeWitt's new record "Islands", out now on Izumi Records. The only place you can get it is from your good friends at EDGE Distribution.

"Islands" is a great introduction to Dewitt if you haven't found him before. "Dewitt's distinctly low-toned voice - unaffected and perpetually sleepy - channels thoughtful melodies that pivot and twist through sparse but potent string arrangements" (nashville.metromix.com).

Keegan is a member of Roman Candle and a celebrated film score composer. His delicate, folky songwriting is lead by vocals akin to Elvis Costello or Gruff Rhys. This is a beautiful record with incredible sounds laid all through it. We love him.

"Islands" is only available at Indie Record Stores and only on LP and comes with a download code. If you did not get a CD promo from us, let us know and we'll get you one!

Last up is a new release from English ska band Madness (Yup, they're still around). The vinyl was out on 9/18, but you can now get the CD available as of 9/29.

"The Liberty of Norton Folgate" is their first album of all new material since 1999. It's brought to you in the US by Yep Roc Records (RedEye). The album has gotten a great reception in the UK where its been out since May.

This record is considered "ambitious, tuneful, exciting, wise, and with a finale that kicks them up a level into an undreamed-of musical dimension... Everything seems to gel – the arrangements are the best ever, the production is thoughtful and smart, and the influences melded perfectly" (uncut.co.uk).
