Greetings!

Well, here we are at the beginning of our last week in wonderful Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Its gonna be a long week of trying to eat every meal we love in this town and having a pint with all of our fantastic friends that we'll be leaving behind. Luckily its not too far away and we can be here when needed! On the other hand, in less than a week we'll be in New York and we can't be more excited! Please hit us up and let's get together if you are down there! Also, if you are from afar but will be in town for CMJ, please let us know about that as well! We'll have a little shindig to announce next week, but will also be out and about for the whole week, so let's meet up then too!

This week we have a couple of really exciting records to talk about. The Cymbals Eat Guitars is finally available, and the band is on tour with our other faves Hooray For Earth! Also, there is a new Kasabian record!

Cymbals Eat Guitars "Lenses Alien" [OUT NOW]

First up we have Cymbals Eat Guitars and their sophomore release is Lenses Alien. “Unlike virtually all adventurous New York acts around these days, Cymbals Eat Guitars are based not in Brooklyn, but on the considerably less hip Staten Island. That outsider status feels reflected in their music, which flirts in equal measure with early 90s indie noise, fuzzy ambient washes, and post-rock tensions. The idiosyncrasy of this approach, and the deftness of execution, gives Lenses Alien a rare distinctiveness and depth of personality” (www.theskinny.co.uk). This record lives up to the hype about this band for the past several years, and solidifies their place in indie rock as a band that will around for a long time. And if you've been listening to as much Pavement as we have lately, you will also find this to fit perfectly into that playlist. Its available now from our friends at Barsuk (Redeye).

KASABIAN "Velociraptor!" [OUT NOW]

Burnt out on your current playlist , or just don’t know what you want to listen to lately? Well Kasabian is to the rescue with their latest album – Velociraptor! With their 4th full length, Kasabian is back from a 2 year hiatus with an album that has a little something no matter what your mood is. Feeling some British Pop? This album has it. Feeling more like some rock n’ roll? Got that too. “With abundant confidence, Kasabian throws against their canvas everything from energetic rave-ups (the title track) to no-frills rock ‘n’ roll (Days Are Forgotten its resemblance to Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song uncanny), nervous, nightmarish electro (Switchblade Smiles), mystical Eastern moodscapes (Acid Turkish Bath), syrupy Britpop (Goodbye Kiss) and druggy, Beatles-esque ballads (La Fée Verte, Neon Noon).
